North Attleborough advises residents to dispose of water after E. coli discovery

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The City of North Attleborough said it was advising residents to dispose of water collected before 2 p.m. Thursday following the discovery of E. coli in a routine raw water sample.

The water sample that tested positive was collected from Kelley Well No. 2.

“The Department of Public Works has shut off the water supply from the affected well, thereby isolating the E. coli from entering the town’s water system,” the city said.

A boil water advisory was not issued.

Anyone with questions was asked to contact the North Attleborough Department of Public Works at 508-695-7790.
