Comfortable day on tap

Showers/storms return Sunday

7 Day Forecast

Happy Friday!

We are waking up to a much more comfortable start this morning than we have had the last few days. It’s noticeably less humid – in fact, dewpoints this morning are 10-20 degrees lower than they were this time yesterday morning. The last time dewpoints were this low in Providence was July 5th! This afternoon is shaping up to be very nice, with a mix of clouds and sunshine and temperatures in the low 80s.

Winds could be a bit gusty at times today, but this wind is out of the northwest – meaning it will keep the seabreeze at bay and keep things just a bit warmer along the beaches. I think the seabreeze builds back in tomorrow afternoon, but otherwise tomorrow looks very similar to today with even more sunshine in the mix.

Sunday looks unsettled with a chance for shower/storm activity throughout the day, highest in the afternoon and evening. I think the possibility exists for some of these storms to be on the strong-to-severe side as well, so be sure to stay weather-aware as we head into the back half of the weekend.

Next week is looking calm to start, temperatures around 80 and low humidity with no real shower chances until Thursday/Friday.

Have a great weekend!
