Westport man facing firearm charges

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — The Westport Police Department said that a man was arrested for alleged unlawful possession of a firearm on July 17.

Anthony Tropeano was charged with nlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

A search warrant was executed around 5 p.m. on Conserve Avenue by the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, alongside Westport police.

The search allegedly found a Taurus .44 Special revolver with sixty rounds of ammunition.

Tropeano was then taken into custody.
