Portion of South Main Street in Attleboro closed due to water main break

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — A portion of Route 152 in Attleboro has been shut down due to a water main break Saturday night, according to the Attleboro Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to South Main Street near Tiffany Street around 7:15 p.m. and found a car had sunk into the road.

Officials said the driver was able to get out of the car on their own and was not hurt.

The fire department is asking drivers to find alternate routes while crews worked to repair the damage and clear the flooding.

Water in the area will be shut off until the main is fixed.

Additionally, officials said Read Street would also be closed indefinitely due to a separate water main break near Joanna Drive.
