Providence police investigating hit-and-run that left two motorcyclists hospitalized
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are investigating a Sunday night hit-and-run that left two motorcyclists with serious injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:58 p.m. in the area of 94 Mawney Street, when a Dodge Charger allegedly ran a stop sign, striking and running over a pair of motorcyclists, according to Providence City Hall Director of Communications Josh Estrella.
The occupants of the Charger then fled the scene on foot.
The two motorcyclists were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, one with critical but non-life-threatening injuries and the other with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by Providence police detectives and traffic officers.
