New England Aquarium releases 7 sea turtles at West Dennis Beach
WEST DENNIS, Mass. (WLNE) — Seven endangered sea turtles were released at West Dennis Beach on Tuesday after completing rehabilitation with the New England Aquarium.
This comes two weeks after seven others were released around Nantucket Sound, and about a month after 17 turtles were released.
A spokesperson for the New England Aquarium said the turtles spent seven months recovering after being “cold-stunned.”
37 turtles have now been released back to their natural habitat this summer.
There are still five more rehabbing with the aquarium.
