NEW BEDFORD, M.A. (WLNE) — Crews are investigating a smoky 3-alarm fire that sent three to the hospital Monday afternoon.
According to the New Bedford Fire Department, the blaze ignited at a home on Grandfield Street around 3:30 p.m.
The fire soon extended to the neighboring home, and both buildings had to be evacuated.
Officials noted the intensity of the flames caused the roof to collapse.
One neighbor who lives across the street from the home told ABC6 News he had never seen anything like it.
The victims were treated for smoke inhalation.
