United Healthcare Medicare Advantage patients get election period to opt in to new plan
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island AG’s office has announced a special election period for patients with United Healthcare’s Medicare Advantage plans in Rhode Island.
At the beginning of this month, patients under the insurance were no longer accepted at four Brown University Health hospitals.
Those hospitals included Hasbro Children’s Hospital Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital.
The special election period allows affected members to opt into a new Medicare Advantage plan, a Medi-gap plan or transition to traditional Medicare during a two-month window.
You will be notified directly by UHC about the special enrollment period.
