Taunton bridge closing for up to three months for construction

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Starting Friday, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation is closing the Old Colony South Street Bridge.

MassDOT will begin construction on the bridge’s structure.

The bridge is between the town line of Raynham and East Taunton, crossing the Taunton River.

The closure is expected to last 60 to 90 days.

Officials said a more comprehensive closure to come in 2027, after a full bridge repair plan is finalized.
