Clearing out Thursday afternoon

Weekend looking great, becoming warmer and more humid Sunday

We have a great one on tap today – our stretch of mild and comfortable weather continues, with more sunshine in the mix this afternoon. Clouds dominate before lunchtime, but we quickly clear out after that. High temperatures today are shaping up to be very similar to yesterday – in the upper 70s to just around 80. I think we will be just a little cooler along the South Coast, with highs in the mid 70s. The pesky wildfire smoke we’ve been dealing with the last few days also continues to thin out throughout the day as well!

This sunshine sticks around through the weekend, thanks to high pressure which remains in control over the next few days. Tomorrow and Saturday are shaping up to be similarly comfortable and mild as today, but a warmup is in store for Sunday. Highs will reach into the middle-to-upper 80s, with increasing humidity as well. This heat sticks around well into next week, where we will make a run at 90 degrees inland midweek.

We also have a chance for rain in the 7-day again… a chance of showers late in the day on Wednesday. If this pans out, we would end up with an eleven-day dry streak, the longest in Providence since January of this year.

Have a great Thursday!
