Scattered showers and storms this afternoon
Tomorrow is cooler and less humid
The soupy, tropical-feeling humidity we had yesterday lingers through today, but it won’t be around for much longer. It’s a warm and muggy start with temperatures and dew points both in the 70s, and this afternoon inland highs will climb into the mid 80s, around 80 at the coast. A cold front approaches late in the afternoon, and this brings a chance for hit-or-miss showers and storms later on before eventually causing temps and humidity to drop overnight.
The best chance of seeing any rain or storms this afternoon is between about 3-9pm, but they will be scattered and not all of us will see one. Downpours, thunder, and some gusty winds are possible where these storms move through, but I don’t think they will reach severe criteria. Most will see less than an inch of rainfall today, but we need every drop we can get. In fact, we haven’t gotten any rainfall at T.F. Green since the first of the month! That’s the longest dry streak since October 2024.
High pressure builds in as we head toward the weekend – tomorrow and Saturday will be cooler and less humid before we turn up the heat and humidity once again for the day on Sunday. Below average temps make a return next week.
Have a great Thursday!
