RIDOT plans lane reductions in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that it will temporarily reduce the travel lanes from two to one in each direction on Route 2 at the Route 37 overpass in Cranston starting Saturday night.

The reduction is part of a project to replace the structurally deficient bridge in the area.

RIDOT said that ramps and exits at the interchange will remain open but lanes would be narrowed and shifted.

During the set-up of the change, detours may be put in place after 10 p.m.

The traffic pattern will remain in place until mid-November.
