Connecticut man rescued by emergency personnel after getting wedged in playground tube slide

VERNON, Conn. (WLNE) — Being young at heart doesn’t always pay off.

A 40-year-old Connecticut man was extricated from a playground tube slide Saturday afternoon after getting stuck in the middle of structure, according to a Facebook post from the Town of Vernon Fire Department.

Arriving rescue personnel found the man wedged feet and head first in the slide at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the Northeast Elementary School playground.

The primary concern of rescuers was the hot temperature of the small space, and ventilation was set up for the 30 minutes rescue operation.

The man was also given oxygen while rescuers worked.

The patient refused treatment and a trip to a local emergency room after being evaluated by on-scene EMS personnel.
