Skating Club of Boston 5K will raise money in memory of Barrington resident who died in plane collision

NORWOOD, Mass. (WLNE) — Today in Norwood, the Skating Blub of Boston will host a 5k on and off the ice to honor those lost in the January mid-air plane collision in Washington, DC.

Tonight, the club will honor their six members who died in the crash.

Participants can skate on the ice, or walk along off the ice.

The event raises money for the Always Champions Foundation, which looks to create two scholarships, including one in memory of Barrington, Rhode Island’s resident Spencer Lane, who died on board the plane with his mother Christine.

The event is from 6 to 9 tonight at the Skating Club of Boston in Norwood.
