Showers and Storms Return for Friday

A beautiful, if not slightly cool day across Southern New England! Friday, however, will look different.

Overnight, temperatures will wind up on either side of 60 degrees, and clouds will increase as low pressure closes in on the region. Friday starts mostly cloudy, and we’ll have a few scattered showers and some mist & drizzle for the coast. We’ll be keeping an eye to the sky for a few thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening. While these storms should stay sub-severe, a few of them may pack some gusty winds, and some small hail (though that is more likely to our north), as well as lightning and heavy rain. Stay weather aware! Highs will be in the mid 70s.

The long weekend is still shaping up to be a stunner! Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70s! Fantastic for just about any outdoor activities you have planned for the Labor Day holiday.

Next week, this “below-average” pattern continues. Chances of rain stay low, and highs look like they’ll hang in the mid 70s all the way through the end of the week!
