Showers and storms today, clearing out for the weekend
Best chance for storms between about 2-8pm
A cold front arrives on our doorstep today, and this will lead to a bit of unsettled weather ahead of the weekend. Aside from a few showers before lunchtime, the morning is relatively quiet, but the chance for storms increases this afternoon. The highest chance for storms in our area will be between about 2-8pm today. Some downpours, gusty winds, and thunder are not out of the question here, but the chance of severe weather is low. Up to an inch of rainfall is possible in some localized spots, with more rain expected the farther north you go.
Once the front clears out, we have a great Labor Day Weekend on tap. It will be dry and mild with lots of sunshine. Temperatures slowly climb throughout the weekend from the lower 70s tomorrow to the middle-to-upper 70s on Monday. We stay dry through the first half of next week, as well. It looks like our next chance for some more much-needed rain will come into play Thursday into Friday of next week.
Have a great holiday weekend!
