Today considered busiest, most expensive Labor Day holiday travel day
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Expedia says the busiest and most expensive travel day for the Labor Day holiday is today.
And while many gear up to hit the roads and skies, we’ve already been seeing some delays.
New Jersey’s Newark International Airport was on a ground stop Thursday because of air traffic control communication issues.
Controllers say they lost their radio frequencies.
The FAA reduced flights into Newark Liberty International by 20 percent.
The flight reduction is expected to end today.
But controllers warned the frequency issues could continue over the next 24 hours.
At TF Green International Airport, there’s one delay reported right now and no cancellations.
At Boston Logan International Airport, there’s 17 delays reported and one cancellation.
