29-year-old Seekonk man dies in early morning highway crash

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — A 29-year-old Seekonk man has died from injuries suffered in a Friday morning highway crash, according to a statement from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

According to Jennifer Sowa of the Bristol County DA’s office, Joseph Gagliardi died as a result of the I-195 West crash.

According to Sowa, the incident occurred at approximately 1:21 a.m. when Seekonk police, EMS and Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash of a car traveling at a high rate of speed.

Arriving personnel found a silver Honda Fit with catastrophic damage in a wooded median area.

The Fit was determined to have struck several trees in the median near mile marker 2.4.

Gagliardi was located in the grass of the median suffering from significant injuries.

He was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS personnel.

The incident remains under investigation by Seekonk police, Massachusetts State Police and state police detectives assigned to the Bristol County DA’s office.
