UPDATE: Pawtucket police name suspect in truck into home incident
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket police have identified the suspect who allegedly crashed a truck into a city home Thursday night.
John Demonte Alarcon, 32, of Pawtucket, has been charged with DUI and reckless driving stemming from the incident.
According to the Pawtucket Police Department, Alarcon drove the truck into the Newport Avenue home and sustained minor injuries in the crash.
According to a witness account of the incident given to ABC6, the truck attempted to pass a car on the road.
The truck then hit the car so hard, it deployed its airbags.
The truck then hopped a curb, went through the home’s fireplace and finally came to a stop inside with a large piece of wood from the house crashing through the windshield.
The witness told ABC6 he watched the driver run away.
The residents of the home were present at the time of the crash, but were not injured, according to Pawtucket police.
Alarcon will be arraigned Friday in 6th District Court.
