Tiverton PD arrest suspect for alleged assault of elderly family members, multi-city pursuit

TIVERTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Tiverton police arrested a man Monday who allegedly assaulted two elderly family members and led officers on a multi-jurisdiction pursuit.

According to the Tiverton Police Department, Greg Frazer, 46, is charged with two counts of domestic violence – assault on persons 60 years of age or older causing bodily harm, eluding law enforcement in a vehicle in a high-speed pursuit, vandalism and others.

Frazer’s last know address is in Little Compton, R.I.

Tiverton police responded to Hancock Estates at 345 Hancock Street Monday at approximately 5:49 p.m. for reports of an active assault.

Multiple 911 callers reported that a male subject had violently assaulted two family members, ages 64 and 82, according to Tiverton police.

Responding officers were informed that the suspect, later identified as Frazer, had fled the area in a sedan, striking a parked car and leaving the scene recklessly, according to Tiverton PD.

Several officers attempted to stop Frazer and he drove dangerously around police cruisers, according to the Tiverton PD report.

A pursuit of Frazer was initiated, and other officers remained at the scene of the initial incident as fire department personnel  treated the victims of the alleged assault.

The pursuit of Frazer continued into Fall River, Mass., and then reentered Tiverton onto Main Road.

Tiverton police ended their pursuit of Frazer after his identity was confirmed and his possible address in Little Compton was verified, according to Tiverton police.

Little Compton police observed and pursued Frazer a short time later, and he drove into the parking lot of the Little Compton Public Safety Complex at 60 Simmons Road.

Frazer then surrendered to on-scene officers without further incident, according to Tiverton police.

After being transported to the Tiverton Police Department for processing, Frazer became combative and resisted officers and attempted to damage equipment in the booking room, according to police.

According to Tiverton Police Department Deputy Chief Michael Miguel, Frazer damaged the booking room camera.

The two victims of the alleged assault are expected to fully recover from their injuries.
