Summer-like feel this afternoon
The chance for showers/storms returns late Saturday night
You can certainly feel the difference in the air today! We woke up this morning to temperatures 10-15 degrees higher than yesterday, and a noticeable increase in humidity. We also got some beneficial rain this morning across Southern New England with a weakening front that moved through. Back behind the front, we stay dry and clear out relatively quickly in time for the afternoon. High temperatures today will be in the low 80s inland, remaining in the 70s along the coast. If you’re headed out to PVD Fest this evening, the forecast is looking great as well.
Tomorrow looks dry and sunny for the most part, and afternoon highs will jump into the 80s inland once again. Another approaching cold front brings the chance for some afternoon showers/storms to our north and west, and some of these storms could be severe. They avoid us for the most part, with the chance for some showers and storms only after 7-9pm or so. That means the second day of PVD Fest should be a go for the most part, it’s only the last few hours we have to keep an eye on.
Sunday brings a big change – high temperatures will drop to the low 70s once again with lots of cloud cover. I think some folks could stay in the 60s as well! Some showers will linger through about lunchtime, and the afternoon brings partial clearing. If you’re headed out to the Pats home opener at Gillette, a few showers are possible around kickoff at 1pm, but we’ll dry out by the end of the game.
Have a great weekend!
