Temps Rise As Fall Begins!

Good Monday morning! It’s a cool start to the workweek with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, but this afternoon will be perfectly average across Southern New England. Expect clouds to give way to sun, and highs in the upper 60s/low 70s for the coast, and low/mid 70s inland. However, the most exciting happening of the day may not be the sunshine or the temperatures, but rather the start of a new season! The autumnal equinox happens at 2:19 PM, and will that, fall begins.

Overnight, temperatures fall back to the mid/upper 50s with clouds increasing. Tuesday will be a summery-feeling day with higher humidity, and high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. We may even have a few spots inland reach 80 degrees! However, this warmer feel is out ahead of our next weather-maker: an area of low pressure that will drive showers and even a rumble of thunder in the area late Tuesday evening. Showers will linger Wednesday morning and afternoon as well. Highs will be back to the low/mid 70s Wednesday.

With waves of low pressure moving through the region, we stay somewhat unsettled Thursday and Friday as well, with a few showers staying in the forecast. While these days don’t look like washouts, you’ll want to keep an umbrella or rain jacket handy if you’re looking to stay dry outdoors all day!
