Former North Kingstown coach sentenced in ‘naked fat test’ trial

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A former North Kingstown High School basketball coach was sentenced to probation Monday after trial.

Aaron Thomas was sentenced to one year probation, and issued a no contact order with multiple victims.

Thomas admitted on the stand that he did perform “fat tests” while students were naked as part of a fitness program, but said there was no sexual motive.

On May 19, Thomas was found guilty of simple battery. He was found not guilty of second degree child molestation and sexual assault.
