Overturned truck spills gravel and diesel fuel onto 495 in Raynham
RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A heavy-duty dump truck hauling gravel overturned on I-495 south Tuesday morning, spilling both its cargo and diesel fuel, according to the Raynham Fire Department.
The incident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. when the truck crashed and rolled over onto the median of 495 south, according to Raynham Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita.
The driver of the truck refused transportation to a local hospital at the scene of the crash, according to Chief LaCivita.
The cleanup of gravel, hydraulic fluids and diesel fuel is ongoing at the scene, and there was a shutdown of a section of 495 by state police and transportation officials.
Traffic has been diverted via Exit 18 and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
