Buttonwood Park Zoo opens Animal Ambassador Center

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Mayor Jon Mitchell and the staff of Buttonwood Park Zoo cut the ribbon on the zoo’s new Animal Ambassador Center on Thursday.
The center houses red fox siblings Finn and Fern, poison dart frogs, a green aracari, a skink and other animals.
The zoo said the animals housed at the center are mostly rescues who will travel to schools, libraries and other public events to “deliver hands-on learning experiences.”
The red fox siblings were previously rescued along with 300 other animals from a zoo in Cleveland, Ohio.
