Lanes closed on Newport Pell Bridge due to fire

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Newport Police Department said that the westbound lanes of the Newport Pell Bridge were closed Saturday morning due to a car fire.

The department said the closure would last for an “indeterminate time.”

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
