New Bedford to hold preliminary city elections today
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — It’s preliminary election day in New Bedford.
Today, voters will decide which at large councilor candidates will be on the November ballot.
12 at-large councilor candidates are on today’s ballot and ten will move forward to November’s general election.
New Bedford voters will also cast a vote for ward councilors in wards three, four and six.
Incumbents Shawn Oliver, Derek Baptiste and Ryan Pereira are running unopposed.
So, too, is the city’s assessor, Peter Berthiaume.
Voters will also weigh in on three seats open in the city’s school committee.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
