UPDATE: Missing Providence 12-year-old returns home safely

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence 12-year-old who was last seen on October 2 has returned home safely, according to a statement from a city official.

According to Chief Public Information Officer for Public Safety Kristy DosReis, Marelyn Cerin returned home Monday night.

Providence police issued a statement on October 3 asking for public assistance in locating Cerin.

She had last been seen October 2 on Dartmouth Avenue in Providence.
