Heavy fire at home in Freetown

FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE) — A large fire occurred at a home in Freetown Wednesday afternoon.

The fire took place on South Main Street in Assonet.

Firefighters said that all residents of the home were able to get out.

Two residents had to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries, while the third was unharmed.

In addition, three cats died and two were missing as a result of the fire.

The house was a total loss.

ABC6 News crews on scene saw over a dozen first responders at the home, which suffered heavy fire damage.
