Taunton man killed in industrial accident in Westport

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that a Taunton man was killed in a workplace accident at Mid City Scrap in Westport on Oct. 10.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Mark Peters.

Quinn said that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. and that Peters suffered from a “crushing injury to his lower extremities.”

Peters was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Quinn said the incident was under investigation but did not appear suspicious.
