PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Rhode Island farmer has broken the world record for the heaviest green squash, according to the Roger Williams Park Zoo.

The green squash, which weighed in at 2,200 pounds, was grown by farmer Joe Jutras of Scituate.

Jutras was presented the award at the 2025 Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Growers Weigh Off at Frerichs Farm.

The record-breaking squash will be on display at the Roger Williams Park Zoo’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular every night until Nov. 2.
