State House to host acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns to discuss new series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Later this afternoon, Governor McKee will join with other Rhode Island leaders to host acclaimed documentarian filmmaker Ken Burns.

Burns, who’s famous for his documentaries on the Civil war, jazz and baseball, is working on a new PBS documentary, this time on the Revolutionary War.

Burns, and his co-director, Sarah Botstein, will discuss their project with members of the Department of State’s RI Civic Leadership Program.

Although that state house event is closed to the public, their six part series “The American Revolution,” will being airing on PBS on November 16.
