Stormy start to the week!
We have a StormTracker Alert in place until noon as a line containing heavy rain and gusty winds moves through Southern New England. While the weather itself is uncomfortable, the thing that makes it worse is the timing, which lines up with the morning commute. Heavy rain begins around 7:30 AM or so, and will push east through the late morning, tapering off by noon. We could see areas with 1″+ of rain by the end of this event, as well as wind gusts upwards of 35mph. Stay weather aware, and leave extra time for your commute this morning!
The afternoon, while not picture-perfect, is calmer. It’ll still be windy, and temperatures will actually decrease. We’re starting the day in the mid 60s (warmer than the average highs for this time of year), but temps will fall to the upper 50s by the afternoon as cool, dry air follows our front.
Tuesday will be a nice enough day. We’ll be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s. It’s our “break” day before another area of low pressure comes through on Wednesday, driving more showers and some pockets of heavy rain beginning in the morning. Wednesday will also be in the mid 60s.
However, after the weather clears later Wednesday afternoon/evening, temperatures take a tumble. Thursday’s highs will hover around 60 degrees, and Friday-Sunday’s will only be in the mid/upper 50s!
Stay weather aware, and have a great day!
