RIDOH reports 296 new cases of COVID-19, 4 more deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Rhode Island health officials reported 296 new cases of the coronavirus Wednesday.

The Department of Health said four more people have died, bringing the states death toll to 2,658.

Out of the 17,961 COVID-19 tests administered Tuesday, the state reported a positivity rate of 1.6%.

RIDOH reported 153 Rhode Islanders are currently hospitalized for the virus. 26 patients are in the ICU and 21 are on a ventilator.
