Single live bullet found at Smithfield elementary school
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — A Smithfield elementary school student will not face criminal charges after allegedly bringing a live round of ammunition into Pleasant View Elementary School Tuesday.
According to the Smithfield Police Department, a student found the bullet at approximately 4:11 p.m. in the 100 Pleasant View Avenue school.
Smithfield police investigation determined that another student had brought the bullet in from home, but did not have access to a firearm.
A precautionary K-9 unit sweep of the school was performed and police said that there is no threat to other students or the school.
