Man hospitalized after stabbing in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a man was hospitalized after a stabbing Wednesday.

According to police, the stabbing happened on Smith Street.

First responders arrived to the scene to find the victim with a “non-life-threatening injury to his hand,” police said.

He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

According to police, the victim said a woman stabbed him with a broken bottle.

Additionally, the victim told officers that he knows the woman.
