Providence Public Safety Complex to host medication take-back day
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, and in observance of the designation, Providence residents can turn in expired or unused medications for safe disposal.
Medications can be brought to the Providence Public Safety Complex at 325 Washington Street on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Providence city staff will also be on hand to hand out medication lock bags and disposal kits at the event.
“My administration is committed to reducing overdose deaths and supporting every Providence neighbor on their path to recovery,” said Providence Mayor Brett P. Smiley.
“Improving access to harm reduction services, expanding recovery supports, and reducing behavioral health care disparities require a strategic, sustained effort across our community.”
Providence residents can also dispose of medications at the safety complex at any time.
