PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Burrillville man was arrested by Rhode Island State Police Thursday morning after they said he drove the wrong way on Route 6 in Providence leading to a head-on collision.

Josue Rivera, 45, faces several charges including leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in bodily injury, obstructing an officer in execution of duty and reckless driving.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. Thursday when state police say Rivera drove the wrong way on Route 6 near Dean Street.

Responding emergency personnel arrived to find both an SUV and pick-up truck that had sustained major damage.
