Former Secretaries of State Clinton and Rice to appear at back to back Brown lecture events

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Former Obama administration Secretary of State and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton will appear at Brown University Thursday night for an international affairs lecture.

Clinton will appear at the 104th Stephen Ogden Lecture on International Affairs at 5 p.m.

She is expected to discuss her five-decade career and her thoughts on democracy and the current state of American politics.

Clinton’s predecessor at the State Department, Condoleezza Rice, will appear at the Ogden Lecture on November 5.

Rice served in the George W. Bush administration, first as National Security Advisor and then as Secretary of State in Bush’s second term starting in 2005.

She was the first Black woman to hold both of these roles.

She will discuss United States foreign policy, diplomacy and national security.

Both Rice and Clinton’s sessions will be moderated by Brown University President Christina Paxson.

Tickets to both events are free to the public.
