Three dead in Woonsocket shooting incident

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said detectives are investigating after three people were shot and killed in Woonsocket Monday night.

Police responded to an apartment on Rathbun Street around 6:45 p.m. to find three gunshot victims.

Two victims were taken to Landmark Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

The third victim also died from their injuries.

According to the department, a witness was able to run from the scene and contact police.

Police said officers seized a firearm from the apartment.

According to the department, “the incident involved only the parties in the residence and there is no threat to the community.”

The shooting remains under investigation.
