Wicked windy Wednesday night ahead!
We’re waking up cool but comfy across Southern New England. Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s to start, and we’ll be in the mid to upper 50s by the afternoon. Clouds increase throughout the day, but wind gusts increase as well. That, however is just the start.
We will have a StormTracker Alert tonight through Thursday morning. Low pressure moves in later tonight, bringing the potential of a gusty thunderstorm between 9 PM – 12 AM. The bigger issue, however, is that as low pressure leaves, extremely gusty winds move in. We could see gusts up to 60 mph, which has prompted a High Wind Watch across most of Southern New England. That Watch will last from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning, as winds finally die down. With gusts being so high, you’ll want to take your holiday decor indoors so it doesn’t end up down the street. Also, know that power outages are possible while winds are at their peak.
It’ll still be windy through Thursday afternoon… just not as windy as the overnight/early morning. Otherwise, Thursday will be decent for November with highs in the low 50s and some sunshine!
Friday will be more mild, with highs back in the mid 50s and a southwesterly breeze, rather than howling winds. We’ll start with sunshine, but clouds increase throughout the day.
Overnight/Saturday morning, our next storm arrives, bringing showers and some heavy rain through Saturday morning before we dry out during the second half of the day. Highs will be in the upper 50s/low 60s. Sunday, on the flip-side, starts out dry, but ends with showers and some heavy rain as a separate storm moves in.
Stay safe, and stay weather aware!
