14-year-old arrested after alleged robbery at knifepoint
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a 14-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly stole money from an 11-year-old at knifepoint on Nov. 3.
Around 4 p.m. on Nov. 3, police were notified that an 11-year-old victim had been robbed.
Officials said the victim told police that they had gotten off a school bus and began walking towards the intersection of Progress Avenue and Priscilla Avenue when they were approached by the suspect.
According to police, the suspect, a 14-year-old boy, allegedly showed a knife and “demanded property” from the victim.
The suspect allegedly stole a “small amount of money” from the suspect and ran from the scene.
The 11-year-old was not hurt.
On Wednesday, officers identified and located the suspect, who police alleged was in possession of a knife of school property.
The individual was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a weapon on school grounds.
