Authorities investigating pair of overnight car crashes in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Authorities are investigating a pair of car crashes that occurred in Warwick early Monday morning.

One occurred on Airport Road near TF Green Airport shortly after 1 a.m. when a car collided with a utility pole.

The car caught fire as a result of the crash, and there’s no available information on any injuries in the incident.

A section of Airport Road and Post Road were closed down while police and firefighters worked to clear the scene.

Rhode Island State Police and Warwick police are investigating the crash.

West Shore Road was the scene of an earlier crash Monday morning, which happened just after midnight.

Broken glass littered the highway at the scene near the intersection with Sandy Lane.
