Providence Police investigating after ‘unfounded’ bomb threat

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said detectives are investigating after a bomb threat at a grocery store turned out to be a false alarm Monday.

According to police, officers were called to the Stop and Shop on Manton Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. for a bomb threat.

At the scene, officers determined that threat was “unfounded,” according to police.

The alleged threat remains under investigation.
