Providence PD identify shooting victim, investigating incident as homicide with suspect in custody

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police have released the identity of the victim in a fatal Broad Street shooting and have also announced that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Morgan Lynn Boss, 29, from Vernon, Connecticut, and there is a suspect in custody in the incident.

The incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. at 1003 Broad Street where responding officers located an adult female who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Boss was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Providence police said that detectives are investigating the incident and criminal charges are pending.
