TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Tiverton Police Department said the termination of a former officer due to his actions as a school resource officer was upheld.

Jacob Rapoza was found guilty for the inappropriate use of a taser in a school setting in 2024.

He was then suspended without pay after additional, unrelated child abuse charges were filed in Warren in August 2023.

The termination was unanimously upheld as part of the Rhode Island Law Enforcement Officers Due Process, Accountability, and Transparency Act.
