Providence to break ground on new building to combine two city schools

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Ground will be broken Monday on a new school combining Asa Messer Elementary and West Broadway Middle School.

This new facility represents needed upgrades to school buildings in the district, according to the Providence Public School District.

The 1 p.m. ceremony will be attended by Providence Mayor Brett Smiley and Rhode Island Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green.

It is not yet known when the new school will open its doors to students.
