Senator Warren calls on Harvard to cut professor loose over Epstein email ties

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Democratic Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is calling on Harvard University to drop a high-profile faculty member in the wake of a recently released cache of Jeffrey Epstein emails.

Larry Summers was revealed to have had multiple email exchanges with the late sex offender between 2013 and 2019.

The two men exchanged sexist remarks with Summers also soliciting romantic advice, according to the records.

Senator Warren called Summers’ interactions with a convicted sex offender “monumentally bad judgment.”

Summers stated that he will pause his public appearances but will not step down from his teaching role at the Ivy League university.

Summers previously served as Harvard’s president and relinquished the role in 2006 in the midst of controversial statements.

This included suggesting that women fared poorer in sciences than men because of genetic differences.
