Man sentenced for 2016 murder of elderly Woonsocket woman

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The man who murdered an elderly Woonsocket woman in 2016 was sentenced on Tuesday afternoon.

Matthew Dusseault was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

A jury found him guilty in January of killing 81-year-old Constance Gauthier in March of 2016.

Police said the victim’s home was in shambles to make it look like there was a robbery.
