Pawtucket man killed in NYC stabbing

NEW YORK (WLNE) — A Pawtucket man is dead after a stabbing in New York City on Monday morning, according to the New York City Police Department.

NYPD identified the victim as 23-year-old Daevon Silva, of Pawtucket.

According to NYPD, officers responded to the intersection of West 49 Street and 7 Avenue around 1 a.m. for an assault.

Police arrived to find a man, later identified as Silva, with stab wounds to his back and right thigh.

Silva was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said no arrests have been made in the stabbing.

Silva was previously arrested three times in 2022 in Rhode Island for an alleged home invasion, theft of a car, and a fight on the Block Island Ferry.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
